Frequently Asked Questions

Should I make a reservation?

YES. For any parties over two people, we recommend reserving a table, though it is not required for you to make a reservation. We are a small restaurant with our fullest capacity at approx. 60 people so it can be hard to seat bigger groups over four people especially on our busiest days like Fridays and Saturdays. If you know you are coming in with a bigger party than four, try your best to make a reservation at least 1.5 to 2 weeks in advanced (suggested for Fridays & Saturdays, less so Tuesday through Thursday). Parties 7+ will need to email us at hello@magnapdx.com or call (503)395-8542 in order to make reservation depending on availability. We want everyone to eat with us but sometimes it is hard due to our small space.

What are your hours?

We are open Tuesday through Saturday with lunch hours from 11:30am to 1:30pm and dinner hours from 5pm - 9pm. Tuesday-Thursday our last seating is around 8:15pm to 8:30pm (depending on how slow we are). Last seating on Fridays & Saturdays is 9pm.

Why 20% service charge?

We want our employees to have as close to a stable income as possible. This is why we have implemented a 20% service charge to all bills which brings us a little closer to that goal and also eliminates the pressure of tipping, though there is an option to add a little extra if you’d like. Again, no pressure! Read more here: WAGE EQUITY — MAGNA KUSINA

What is the maximum amount of people I could reserve in a party?

You can reserve up to 6 people on the OpenTable platform. Groups of 7 or more will have to email at hello@magnapdx.com or call the restaurant at (503)395-8542. The maximum amount of people you can reserve for is 12.

Do children/babies in strollers count as part of the party?

Yes, because of the small nature of our restaurant, we do ask you to add your babies/children as part of the party since they will be taking up seats. If you need to bring your stroller in, please notify the restaurant as we have very limited space. Specify in the notes of your reservation that you will require booster seats or highchairs.

What is the parking situation?

We are in a residential area in the Clinton Neighborhood which has plenty of street parking. There are some signs that will only allow you to park for a certain amount of time so be on the lookout. There is no parking lot so please plan adequate time to find parking before heading to the restaurant.

Do you have wheelchair accessibility?

Yes, we have wheelchair accessibility for most of our tables with the exception of some of our outdoor patio tables. Please specify in the notes of your reservation that you will need wheelchair access or give us a call at (503)395-8542 or email us at hello@magnapdx.com in order to properly accommodate.

Is your dinner menu offered during lunch and vice versa?

No, unfortunately. We have such a small operation that for the time being lunch menu is offered only during lunch time and the dinner menu is only offered during dinner time.

Do you have dessert?

Yes! We usually have 2 options for dessert which range from our takes on certain Filipino desserts to in-house made ice cream flavors.

Do you allow dogs on your patio?

Yes, we do! You are allowed to bring your four-legged friend to dine with you in our patio/outside tables.

Do you cater?

Yes, we do! For any catering inquiries, please email us at hello@magnapdx.com to see our full catering menu.

Do you have booths?

No, unfortunately we have tables and counter-top seating inside and wooden picnic-style tables outside.

Is it loud?

Yes, our patrons can be quite boisterous due to celebrations for a myriad of reasons. If you would like a slightly less noisy space, you can try out our outdoor seating but at the end of the day, no promises!
